Understanding how biological and environmental factors influence the unfolding of cognitive changes as we age may provide strategies to protect memory and cognition. This lecture highlights cutting edge research directed towards prevention of AD as well as epidemiological research that identifies factors that positively or negatively influence the risk of dementing illnesses.
This course is suitable for both beginning and intermediate levels. There is an introduction to cognitive changes as we age, which is necessary and appropriate for beginners. It also applies to intermediate levels as it expands upon the introductory level, focusing on prevention of AD and factors that influence the risk of dementing illness.
