Substance abuse in the older adult is a hidden epidemic in the United States. Many factors come into play to render them at risk. This interactive and relevant topic will have participants learn how to identify at-risk older adults and what treatment protocols exist to help them. Learn strategies in communicating with older adults and how to successfully approach this very important area among the aging.
This course is suitable for both beginning and intermediate levels. There is an introduction to addictions which is necessary and appropriate for beginners. It also applies to intermediate levels as it expands upon the introductory level, focusing on the types and impact of addition in senior that to help effect a better clinical outcome for their patients & clients.
