Senior Fear: Exploring Different Types of Anxiety Disorders in Older Adults

Everybody has anxiety.  Anxiety is a normal human response to perceived danger.  But if a senior is experiencing anxiety when there is no real threat, there may be an anxiety disorder diagnosis that requires treatment.  This interactive seminar will discuss the different types of anxiety disorders including that impact older adults including, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.  Symptoms, causes and treatment options will be covered extensively.

This course is suitable for both beginning and intermediate levels. There is relevance as it provides information on the different types of mental health issues. It also applies to intermediate levels as it expands upon the introductory level, focusing on various types of anxiety and differentiating between the various types, symptoms and treatment for anxiety. It will also provide insights into the impact of anxiety both emotionally and physically.
